Zero-Point Energy

The theory of extracting usable energy from the quantum vacuum fluctuations that exist even at absolute zero temperature.

OVERVIEW

Zero-point energy (ZPE) is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical physical system can have, which is non-zero even at absolute zero temperature. The concept is a well-established prediction of quantum mechanics. However, the question of whether useful energy can be extracted from zero-point fluctuations is highly controversial. Proponents claim that free energy devices using ZPE have been invented but suppressed by the energy industry. Mainstream physics holds that zero-point energy cannot be extracted to do useful work without violating the laws of thermodynamics.

KNOWN FACTS

The Casimir Effect demonstrates that zero-point energy produces measurable physical forces

Quantum field theory successfully predicts zero-point fluctuations

Some inventors (e.g., Thomas Henry Moray, T. Townsend Brown) claimed working energy devices

Patents for energy extraction from the vacuum have been filed (though none proven workable)

Theoretical physicists have debated the possibility of ZPE extraction

CLAIMS

Zero-point energy provides an unlimited, clean energy source

Working free energy devices have been invented but suppressed

The energy industry suppresses ZPE technology to protect fossil fuel profits

Tesla, Moray, and others demonstrated working ZPE devices

Zero-point energy is the source of 'cold fusion' and other anomalous energy phenomena

EVIDENCE FOR

The Casimir Effect demonstrates that zero-point energy produces measurable physical forces

Quantum field theory successfully predicts zero-point fluctuations

Some inventors (e.g., Thomas Henry Moray, T. Townsend Brown) claimed working energy devices

Patents for energy extraction from the vacuum have been filed (though none proven workable)

Theoretical physicists have debated the possibility of ZPE extraction

EVIDENCE AGAINST

No ZPE device has ever been independently verified to produce net energy

Extracting energy from the vacuum would violate energy conservation and thermodynamics

The Casimir Effect is a force, not an energy source — it cannot be harvested for power

Claimed ZPE devices have not survived replication attempts under controlled conditions

The suppression narrative lacks evidence and resembles other 'free energy' claims
